How Your Ideas Have Made Formstack the Product It Is Today

Did you know that many of the updates made to Formstack start with customer feedback?

Ever since we started soliciting ideas for product improvements several years ago, our team has been regularly reviewing your suggestions for new features, functions, integrations, and other product improvements that will make our platform even better.

For example, in the past year alone we have:

Made it possible to schedule exports.

In looking at the most-requested features from our customers, we discovered that many users need a way to regularly export the data they collect in online forms—without having to do any manual work.

In some instances, teams need to keep track of new event attendees as registrations roll in. Other times, marketing and sales teams need to regularly review reports and look for new patterns in the data they’re collecting. Analyzing survey results, reviewing customer feedback, tracking payments, and responding to new donations all require regular reviews of online form submissions.

To help, we completely removed the manual work from data exports.

After a thorough review of customer feedback, we created a system you can use to have data delivered at regular intervals. Customers can now schedule data exports on a recurring daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You simply select the information you want to see and tell Formstack how frequently you want to see it, and then review the updates as they arrive.

Whether you need to send monthly reports to your boss or want to review new sign-ups each day, scheduled exports make it easy to see the exact information you need—right when you need it.

Expanded the address field.

Once our product ideas portal made it clear that many of our customers need to gather detailed location information, we enhanced our address form field.

Now, you can select the specific address fields you want to appear on your form. Within seconds, you can add pre-built fields to collect comprehensive postal information for deliveries, country details for international customers, and more.

Updated Workflows so you can reroute and reassign.

As one of our most-used features, Formstack’s Workflows has also benefited from customer feedback. When we get suggestions on ways to make this set of tools even more powerful, it becomes a high priority.

Most recently, we made adjustments to Workflow Logic that allow teams to route Workflow forms both forward and backward. In addition, our team added features that make it possible to reassign Workflow steps after they’ve already started. We discovered that many of our users need this function to keep a Workflow process from getting stuck when a colleague is out of the office, or for those times when a form has been accidentally routed to the incorrect person.

With the latest updates, you can address these issues quickly and easily by simply reassigning the missed step to a different user in your account.

These are just a few of the many, many ways we’ve put your suggestions to work—and we’re making more product improvements all the time.

And now, with the introduction of our new-and-improved Feedback Site, it’s easier than ever to tell us what you’d like to see. You can submit suggestions, vote and comment on ideas from fellow Formstack users, and see what’s coming up next.

Do you have a recommendation? We want to hear it! Our product team is always looking for insights from customers on how to improve our products. To submit your suggestions today, see how you can share your ideas on our new Feedback Site.
